It’s Rehearsal/Recital WEEK! See the details on our Spring Recital and Summer Session!

Saturday Rehearsals
This Saturday, May 16th we will have our rehearsals for the recital in the Recital Hall, of the  Campus Ministry Building—(#18 on the Campus Map). Parking is best in Lot C, which is the big one behind our usual Rockhouse studio building.

We are dividing the rehearsal into three groups: Elementary/Middle School, High School, and Adult. Please note this is NOT the performance order for Sunday’s recital, just our plan for the rehearsal on Saturday.

Rehearsals—Saturday, May 16th

10:o0—10:55am Elementary and Middle School students

11:00am—11:30am High School students

11:30am—12:30pm Adult students

Please be sure to bring your instrument and music. You do not need a stand or footstool.
Please arrive at least ten minutes before your appointed time so that we can begin right away.
Please plan to stay for your full time slot and provide an attentive audience for the other students.

Spring Recital
Our Spring Recital will be:

Sunday, May 17th at 3:00 in the Recital Hall.

Please arrive by 2:45 for tuning and set up.
Dress should be appropriate for being onstage and performing.
Slacks/pants and a nice shirt work well.
Dresses should be long enough for being seated in guitar position as we do at your lessons (keeping in mind that the stage is raised above the audience who are seated.) Please no skirts or short dresses.

Summer Session
Our Summer Session will begin a bit earlier this year.  As usual we will have 8 weeks of lessons (7 private lesson weeks and 1 master class week).

Summer session is great time to work on new music, new styles, and new skills. For younger players it’s a great time to really focus—no competing commitments for school or other studies. It’s short and we can focus on anything that’s helpful for you. Since the university is out it’s easier for us to be flexible with your lessons too, so if you have trips or camps we can double up a week or two.

The Summer Session will run from June 1 through July 31 and generally we will keep the lessons times unless you need a change.

There will be an off-week in there because I have a family commitment the week of June 15—19. So no lessons that week.

Schreiner University Summer String Camp

This year Schreiner University will be offering guitar ensemble with their Summer String Camp for the week of July 20-24.

I will be leading the classes for the guitar ensemble in the mornings and then you will have opportunities for collaboration with other musicians in the afternoons.

(The camp will not interfere will my teaching schedule. If you participate in the camp we will make an adjustment to your lesson time that week if needed.)
