Thank you!

First, a thank you to all who attended my performances this past week. It was great to see you all there—hope you enjoyed the music!

In case you are interested in a more informal setting, I will be at the Turtle Creek Vineyard this Saturday, April 25th from 2:30 – 5:30.

Master Classes
Next week is Master Class week. We’re getting ready for the recital in May, so these master classes are an important time for everyone to get comfortable playing in a performance setting.

PLEASE NOTE: we’ve had to make a change for the High School and Adult groups because of the availability of the Recital Hall. Look carefully at the schedule below for times and locations.

These weeks also allow opportunities for make lessons for those who need them. Let me know if you need a make up lesson.

Here is the schedule:

MASTER CLASS WEEK

4:00-4:55 Elementary Master Class (Piano Room—2nd floor, Summerlin Music Education Building—#33 on the Campus Map)
5:00-5:55 Middle School Master Class (Piano Room—2nd floor, Summerlin Music Education Building—#33 on the Campus Map)
—-
6:05-7:00 High School Master Class (Recital Hall, Campus Ministry Building—#18 on the Campus Map)
7:05-8:30 Adult Master Class (Recital Hall, Campus Ministry Building—#18 on the Campus Map)

Spring Recital
Our Spring Recital is scheduled for Sunday, May 17th at 3:00 in the Recital Hall.

This is our solo/duo recital, so be sure that you have selected a piece to play. You can play solo or with me or with another student if you like! Remember that this is just a chance to play a song that you really enjoy—it doesn’t have to be fancy or difficult, just something that you like.

Rehearsal will be on Saturday, May 16th from 10:00 to 12:00.

More details to come in the May newsletter.

Summer Session
Our Summer Session will begin a bit earlier this year.  As usual we will have 8 weeks of lessons (7 private lesson weeks and 1 master class week).

Summer session is great time to work on new music, new styles, and new skills. For younger players it’s a great time to really focus—no competing commitments for school or other studies. It’s short and we can focus on anything that’s helpful for you. Since the university is out it’s easier for us to be flexible with your lessons too, so if you have trips or camps we can double up a week or two.

The Summer Session will run from June 1 through July 31 and generally we will keep the lessons times unless you need a change.

There will be an off-week in there because I have a family commitment the week of June 15—19. So no lessons that week.

Schreiner University Summer String Camp

This year Schreiner University will be offering guitar ensemble with their Summer String Camp for the week of July 20-24.

I will be leading the classes for the guitar ensemble in the mornings and then you will have opportunities for collaboration with other musicians in the afternoons.

(The camp will not interfere will my teaching schedule. If you participate in the camp we will make an adjustment to your lesson time that week if needed.)

A fun week of music!
