Greetings Mirabilians!
As we move through this holiday season my schedule gets a bit crazy. Thanks to all of you who have been flexible with your lesson times due to all the intrusions of performances that I’ve had. Suddenly everybody is throwing parties : )
Unfortunately, the craziness has meant that I will need to postpone our upcoming recital until after the new year. We will have our recital on Sunday, January 9th at 4:00PM. We’ll be in the Chapel at the Campus Ministry Center at Schreiner University.
This will also give us more time to prepare some nice ensemble music. I will be getting the ensemble music to you after Thanksgiving and we will have rehearsals before Christmas (see the next item).
More details to follow in December.
Our Christmas recital has traditionally been our ensemble recital. We play music in smaller groups playing different parts. It’s a great way to get accustomed to performance and a lot easier than solo playing.
I’ll be distributing the music for the ensembles the week after Thanksgiving. We will practice the music individually for two weeks and then meet for rehearsals the week of Dec. 13-17 in lieu of our regular lessons.
Rehearsal times and locations will be posted in the December newsletter (which will be ready on time!)
Make Up Lessons
I will be doing make up lessons on Tuesday of next week (November 23). Please contact me if you are in need of one.
There will be one more opportunity the week of the rehearsals in December.
Thanksgiving Holiday
We will observe the Thanksgiving Holiday from Tuesday through Friday next week.
Regular lessons will resume Monday, November 29th.
Monthly Payments
Just a reminder to please make your monthly tuition payment at the beginning of the month. It’s easier for our book keeping and helps us keep everyone up to date. If the monthly payment is difficult to remember, you can set up automatic monthly payments or pay for the semester upfront. Let me know if you have questions.
