Spring is here! And our Spring Recital is just around the corner. Master Classes and Make-ups next week.

Master Classes Next Week

Our master classes this month will be for recital preparation.  Please bring your piece to practice and we’ll also discuss performance preparation techniques. Get the confidence you need for a great recital!

PLEASE NOTE: There has been a last-minute change for the Adult Master Class.  There is a conflict on Tuesday evening next week and so our adult master class will have to meet on Monday Evening at 7:00.  I apologize for the inconvenience.

Monday, April 28 (Recital Hall, Campus Ministry Building)
4:00 — 4:55 Elementary School Master Class
5:00 – 5:55 Middle School Master Class
6:00 – 6:55 High School Master Class
7:00 – 8:30 Adult Master Class

If you are in need of a make-up lesson contact me to set up a time. If you have already set up a make-up lesson feel free to confirm with me.

Spring Recital!

Our Spring Recital is scheduled for Sunday, May 18th at 3:00PM in the Recital Hall.

I’ll have all the details in the May Newsletter (coming very soon!)

Our Recital Rehearsal will be in the same location on Saturday, May 17th from 9:00 to 11:30.

We’ll begin with new and younger students and you may leave after your rehearsal is complete. Here is the  schedule. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled group.

9:00 – 9:20     Elementary School students
9:20 to 10:00  Middle School students
10:00 – 10:40   High School students
10:40 – 11:45   Adults

Summer Session

Just a heads up on our Summer Session.  We will start back up the week of June 9th and run to the 1st of August. We’ll use 4th of July week as a chance for you to make up lessons due to travel and other activities. The Summer Session includes one Master Class.  Here’s the whole plan:

JUNE
Jun. 9 – 13 Regular Lessons
Jun. 16 – 20 Regular Lessons
Jun. 23 – 27 Regular Lessons
Jun. 30 – Jul 1  Make- up Days
Jul. 2 – 4 Fourth of July Holiday

JULY
Jul. 7 – 11 Regular Lessons
Jul. 14 – 18 Regular Lessons
Jul. 21 – 25 MASTER CLASS WEEK

Humidity and It’s Lack

Things have been very dry in the Hill Country over the last couple of months (even longer, really).  Despite our recent rains, we’ve had some very dry spells and this can be problematic for our guitars made of wood. I would highly recommend the use of these humidifier packets to be kept in your guitar soundhole and in your case as well.  If you have any questions on this let me know.  Ideal ambient humidity for a guitar is between 45-55%.  We’ll discuss more at the master classes.
