Fall Session Begins

Well…Fall wants to be here!
The weather finally seems to be turning slightly cooler this week. Hooray!
That means we’re fully into our semester. We have some changes to master class times, so take a look at that info below.
Also, our ensemble rehearsals are on the horizon, so glance at the dates at the in this message to update your calendars.
Master Classes Next Week
Next week is our first Master Class Week of this semester. We will have our usual performance practice and then we will be discussing ensemble groups that we have planned for our Ensemble Recital in December as well as more activities if time allows.
We’re going to try a slightly different schedule for the master classes this semester. Because many of our younger students come from outside of Kerrville we will be moving the Elementary/Beginner group to 4:30-5:20 on Tuesday.
Also, we have a very large group of adults this semester and so, in order to give everyone an opportunity to play, we’re going to split into two groups. But we’ll still do some work together as a full group. I’ll explain how this will work when we meet.

5:00 – 5:55 Middle School Master Class
6:00 – 7:00 High School Master Class
Tuesday, October 1 (Recital Hall, Campus Ministry Building)
4:30 – 5:20 Elementary/Beginner Master Class
5:30 – 6:30 Adult Master Class 1
6:30 – 8:00 Adult Master Class 2
Master Class serves as our lesson for the week, but if you are in need of a make-up lesson this week is a good time to schedule one. Contact me to set up a time.
Ensembles and Ensemble Rehearsals
Our Christmas Recital is great fun (and great food) and features all of our students playing in guitar ensembles.
I will distribute the music at our master classes next week and we will work on the music in our regular lessons.
Each ensemble will meet separately for two rehearsals: once the week of October 28th and again the week of December 2nd. (rehearsal schedules will be sent closer to the date).
There will be a final rehearsal on Saturday, December 14th, the day before the recital.
Ensemble playing requires that all performers know their parts well, so be sure to put practice time into learning your music!
Musical Mystery Tour!
As promised we will be doing a musical field trip this semester!
Please mark your calendars for the morning through early afternoon of Saturday, November 16th.
