Fall Session In Full Swing
Greetings Mirabilis Students!

Our Fall Session is in full swing. Our studio is at capacity this session with the largest number of students ever!

I’m so happy to be working with all of you—both returning students and new members. We have lots of activity this session at the studio and at the university.

Master Class Week
The week of September 29th through October 3rd we will have our first Master Class Week. Master Classes are group lessons where we work on performance practice and get to know each other as guitarists in a casual setting. Our goal is to gain familiarity with performing for others and to give and receive feedback about our playing and our skills. Also, we will often cover a topic of interest or work through group exercises.

Master Classes are grouped by age/level to provide an appropriate setting for working together. During the master class week students do not have their regular lessons. However make-up lessons can be scheduled during this week and early beginner student will have lessons as usual.

Adult Students please NOTE: We will meet on Monday evening this time due to a schedule conflict that I have on Tuesday.

All Master Classes will be held in the Music Building on campus. Later this week I will send out a message with the specific rooms, new parking directions, and other details.

4:00-4:55 Elementary Master Class

6:00-6:55 High School Master Class
7:00-8:30 Adult Master Class

Ensemble Music and Rehearsals
In December we will hold our annual Ensemble Christmas Recital. In preparation for this I will begin distributing the music for the ensembles at upcoming lessons. We will have two ensemble rehearsal weeks, one in October and one the week before the recital. See the calendar below for the dates.

Waiting Area and Youth Students
As you all know our beautiful studio space is made possible through our partnership with Schreiner University. Please be mindful of the waiting area which we share with the SU Songkeepers program. Though we usually have the space to ourselves, there are occasions when SU students or visiting artists will need to share the space with us. The kitchen space may be used for warm-up if it is unoccupied.

Please remember that Schreiner University has asked that a parent or other guardian be present in the studio building for students younger than age 18. Parents are always welcome in the lesson room.

Parents of younger students (and especially beginners) are encourage to attend in the lesson room when possible so that they are aware of the direction being given to the student for practice at home.

Tuition
Just a reminder regarding tuition. All students with regularly scheduled lessons receive a reduced tuition rate which covers all lessons, master classes, rehearsals, recitals, and special events. You may pay for the session (fall, spring, or summer) in-full at the beginning or in equal monthly installments for the session. Monthly payments should be made at the first lesson of the month.

Check, Venmo, or cash are all acceptable. If paying by cash, please be sure to use an envelope with your name, date, and the amount enclosed.

Parking

The cul-de-sac in front of the studio is still blocked off because the River Trail remains closed due to the flood. For parking you will need to use the gravel lot near the volleyball courts. I apologize for the inconvenience.
